In keeping with Believers Church’s commitment to partner with the Prime Minister’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan programme, Believers Church Diocese of Lucknow celebrated Independence Day by organizing and participating in a cleanliness drive on 14th August 2016.
Around a hundred members went to three different areas of a town and did a thorough clean-up job. The three places that were cleaned were the town tehsil office, the local hospital, and the police station. Vikash Yadav, the Officer-in-charge of the police station applauded the work done by the diocese members and said that they were real patriots. The medical superintendent of the hospital also appreciated the work of the diocese.
The next day, 15th August 2016, the diocese members celebrated the Independence Day with no less fervor. At 8:30 AM, they hoisted the national flag and sang patriotic songs after which they prayed for the nation. It was clear to everyone gathered that honoring the nation meant being conscientious and loyal citizens, who were aware of their duty to free the nation from various kinds of bondages.
