Diocese of Lucknow Feeds Hundreds of Migrant Laborers
May 16, 2020While the migrants’ exodus continues, Believer Eastern Church Diocese of Lucknow is doing all it can to feed the migrant laborers returning home to ensure that they are not left hungry.
Several of the migrant workers had been travelling without food for days trudging along highways or hitching rides on trucks.
On 16 May 2020, the diocese distributed food packages to 120 migrant workers who were returning from Delhi, Gujarat and Maharastra.
On 17th May 2020, the diocese distributed food packets to 115 migrant laborers.
On the same day, under the initiative of Hope for Children, one time meal and water were distributed to 100 migrant workers who were returning home by bus from Maharatsra, Harayana and Delhi.
Food is also being provided to migrants from other states passing through Lucknow.
