The Youth Department of Diocese-Level Competition for the youths of the diocese on November 13, 2023, at Simalchaur in Kaski District.
Approximately 130 participants, including ordained priests serving under the Diocese of Pokhara, were part of this program.
The youth program commenced at 6 a.m. on November 13, 2023, with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist officiated by the Diocesan vicar. The District Leader of District No. 1 shared from the word of God, encouraging the youths to remember the Creator in the days of their youth, based on Ecclesiastes 12:1.
Officially beginning with the lighting of the lamp at 9 a.m., the youth competitions kicked off. First was the Bible quiz, in which nine teams participated, answering a total of 90 questions prepared from the Book of Acts and the series of Faith and Tradition.
Following that, the song competition featured five participants representing five districts.
Concluding the series of competitions, the dance competition showcased five sisters representing five districts.
The winning teams of the quiz, dance, and song competitions will advance to the National Level Youth competition, to be held in Kathmandu Archdiocese.
Trophies and certificates were distributed to the winners of the quiz, song, and dance competitions, as well as to the participants.
Subsequently, a teaching session was conducted by the Diocesan vicar, who encouraged all attendees by sharing a Bible verse from John 1:18, 17:6, stating, “As God the Father revealed Himself and His characters by sending His only begotten Son, we must exhibit Christ-like characters in our daily life so that others can see Jesus in us.”
The day’s event culminated in a Kyrie Eleison service.
