Believers Church Diocese of Kolkata celebrated the 70th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. The diocese observed this momentous day by holding rallies, flag-hoisting ceremonies and cultural programs.
Thousands of community members participated in the programs held in various places. In each place, the Independence Day ceremony started off with a rally.
The rally was followed by flag hoisting ceremony. Local ward councilors, bank officers and local panchayat members were invited as chief guests for this function. The chief guests hoisted the tricolor flag and everyone present sang the National Anthem in unison. The program came to a close with the speech delivered by the chief guests who threw light on the importance of the day and the sacrifices made by India’s freedom fighters.
On the same day, cultural programs were also held in dozens of places. Bridge of Hope children presented various captivating dances, songs, patriotic poems, dramas and expressed their love for the nation.
