Diocese of Kolkata Holds Free Medical Camp for Islanders
October 30, 2017Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Kolkata held a free medical camp in an island village on 30th October 2017
This village has 573 households that have no access to health centers or hospitals. To reach the nearest hospital they have to walk at least 6 kilometers and then use the public transportation. Due to hygienic living they often fall prey to various sicknesses.
Seeing the need to help these villagers, the church held a free medical camp for them. Around 160 people came for the free medical check-up where they received free consultation and free medicines.
The people from adjacent villages also availed the benefit of the camp.
