Believers Church Diocese of Kolkata reached out to over 3,600 people through community development programs held in different places on Founder’s Day, 8th March 2016.
The church also inaugurated new tailoring units in two different villages. The main purpose of opening these centers was to empower the needy women to become self-reliant. Bishop Dr. Juria Bardhan, Mr. Dilip Mondal (MLA), Mr. Debkumar Naskar (Sub Inspector) and other dignitaries were present for the program. In the coming days, women from extremely poor families will be given training in stitching and embroidery works.
The same day, the church organized community development programs in seven different villages and distributed 1,490 blankets and 340 fishing nets among the neediest families. Apart from these, the church also inaugurated 48 bore wells and 31 sanitations in these villages.
Later, the church fed 1,700 hungry people including widows and children in different places.
Believers Church utilized the occasion of Founder’s Day to make an impact in the lives of thousands of people living in poverty.
