Believers Church Diocese of Kolkata organized a free medical camp and a social welfare program on 30th January 2015, World Leprosy Day.
The camp was organized by Believers Church Medical Centre, Purulia. Two doctors were there to give medical assistance to those who came for the camp. And 140 people including lepers came and received the free medical checkups, treatments and medicines.
The same day, the diocese also conducted a social welfare program in a village and distributed 600 blankets and 700 clothes to people including children and leprosy patients.
“We were in need of a blanket. But couldn’t afford one as the money my husband earns through begging will not sufficient enough to meet our daily needs,” said Makhoni Mathoni, a leper. “Thank you so much for giving us this blanket.”
Believers Church cares for the need of people through its various projects.
