Diocese of Kolkata Distributes 28 BioSand Water Filters in a Colony
June 10, 2015Believers Church Diocese of Kolkata distributed BioSand Water Filters in a colony on 10th June 2015.
People here depend on a bore well installed in their colony for all their water needs. This water is contaminated with arsenic and is not safe for drinking. Still, they continued drinking this same water as they had no other option. Seeing their need, the church decided to provide them with water filters.
28 families received the filters that day. “I am very happy to receive this filter,” said Jonisher Thakur, a beneficiary. “This filter will be very much useful to my family.”
Distributions like this are example of how the church is caring for health of people living in remote and rural areas through its Clean Water Project.
