On 13 July 2021, Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Kohalpur in Nepal organized a school bag distribution program in Surkhet district through Hope for Children.
After four months of lockdown in the Eastern part of Nepal, private vehicles are allowed to ply the roads and some shops are also permitted to open. If the condition remains stable and the number of Coronavirus goes down, the government may consider reopening schools.
Keeping in view of the educational needs of the underprivileged children who have no access to school supplies, the diocese organized this distribution. The target was to distribute 70 school bags, but some children were unable to come to the program. Thus, a total of 60 school bags were distributed.
Some parents said, “This is a helpful gift for the children as most of us are jobless and unable to provide school supplies to our children”.
