Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Khagrachari organized a mosquito net distribution program on 30 September 2021.
A total of 15 families were provided with mosquito nets and lungis (men’s lower garment) during the distribution program. These families are extremely poor and dependent on daily labor to make ends meet.
One of the most common problems they faced during monsoon was the outbreak of mosquito borne diseases. Since these families could not afford mosquito nets due to poverty, they had regularly suffered from sickness caused by mosquitoes.
Bonolata Tripura, 30 years old, was one of the recipients of mosquito nets. Bonolata’s husband is a daily laborer. His income is hardly sufficient to take care of their family needs. In the month of August their son was affected by malaria and had to be hospitalized for six days. But after receiving a brand new mosquito net, Bonolata is confident that malaria will not attack her family anymore.
