Believers Church Diocese of Kathmandu inaugurated a new vocational training tailoring unit on 14th August 2014 in a Bridge of Hope center. The purpose of this unit is to teach women a skill that can be used to earn an income to support themselves and their families.
Rev. Fr. Chitra inaugurated the tailoring and the first batch will be enrolled soon. It will consist of thirty women, who are from very poor families.
“My husband is a daily wager and his income is not sufficient enough to meet our needs,” said Mina Tamang, one of the enrolled students, “But, I can support my family by opening a tailoring shop of mine right after completing this course.”
Believers Church conduct literacy programs, general training, healthcare awareness, and women empowerment programs to strengthen women in society.
