On 20 July 2021, Diocese of Kathmandu held a dry ration distribution program in a small village in Chitwan District, Nepal where ration kits were distributed to underprivileged children and their families through Hope for Children.
Hope for Children carried out the distribution with the help of the Believers Eastern Church local priest who conducted an initial survey to identify the families that were in dire need of help in the aftermath of Covid-19 lockdown. The distribution was done with the approval from village department office and police station.
Mr. Krishna Shrestha, ward chairman, was invited to be part of the program. He expressed his appreciation towards Hope for Children for its compassionate service among children and providing help to the poor in time of their need.
During the program ration kits consisting of 10 kg rice, 1 kg dal, 1 litre oil and 5 masks were distributed to 82 children. The children and their families were extremely grateful for the timely help.
