In continuation of its relief efforts, Believers Church Diocese of Kathmandu held yet two more relief distributions in Chitwan and Parsa districts on 29th and 30th August 2017 to help the survivors of the floods.
Floods and landslides sparked by relentless downpours affected millions and left many people homeless in Nepal. In the aftermath of the floods, many are still in deep shock and worried not knowing how to eke out a livelihood and meet their basic needs.
To do their bit to help those affected, humanitarian assistance teams from Kathmandu diocese visited the flooded areas of Chitwan and Parsa districts and distributed relief materials to a few families that were in dire need of help. Local government representatives and In-Charge of local police stations were also present during the distribution of the relief materials.
Over 460 families received the relief items which consisted rice, pulse, bathing soap, washing soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, slippers, notebooks, pens, clothes, and mattress, mosquito nets, and kitchen utensils. The families were so grateful for the help and they thanked the church for providing them with the essential items in the time of their need.
Ramnarayan Gurou (a village committee In-Charge) said, “I am so grateful to you for coming over to my village and distributing these relief materials. On behalf of my villagers, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart”.
