Diocese of Jorhat Opens Eleven Literacy Units on International Literacy Day

On 11th September 2016, Believers Church Diocese of Jorhat organized a special program to commemorate International Literacy Day, celebrated every year on September 8.

The diocese held several programs on this day to promote the cause of literacy and create awareness about the importance of education. Various competitions were conducted for the women who learned how to read and write through the literacy classes offered by the church and prizes were distributed to the winners.

On the same day, the church launched eleven new literacy units and distributed literacy textbooks to the teachers of the units.
