Diocese of Gorakhpur Distributes Grocery Items to Widows

Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Gorakhpur celebrated International Widows Day among destitute widows on 23rd June 2018.

The church distributed grocery kits consisting 10 kg of rice, 5 kg of wheat flour, 1 liter of mustard oil, 1 packet of salt, 3 kg of dal, 1 packet of turmeric powder and 1 kg of sugar to 15 needy widows on the occasion.

The widows expressed their heartfelt thanks to the church for the care and concern shown towards them.

Bitiya, mother of three children who makes her living by begging, expressed her gratitude saying, “Thank you so much for giving us these essential items. I do not have to go out to beg for the next few days as I have received enough food items to feed my children”.

On International Widows Day, Believers Eastern Church organized similar programs and brought help and hope to hundreds of needy and disadvantaged widows in society.
