The Diocese of Gorakhpur constructed toilets for villagers lacking sanitation facilities. The dedication took place on 27th January 2013 and a total of 17 people got access to proper sanitation facilities.
Due to the lack of proper sanitation facilities the villagers depended on the nearby open fields to defecate. The situation worsened in the rainy season because all these places would be filled with water. The poor villagers couldn’t afford to build toilets on their own. Under this condition, the church took the initiative to construct toilets for the needy villagers.
The sanitation project provides hygienic toilets to needy communities, promoting both health and dignity.
