Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Dimapur extended a helping hand to 25 more families that were hit hardest by the economic crisis caused by the pandemic.
Each family received a dry ration kit consisting of 10 kg rice, 2 kg potatoes, 1 kg dal and 1 litre oil. The beneficiaries were daily wage laborers, widows, and the elderly.
An old man said, “I am a daily wage laborer, but due to lockdown I’m out of work. I have been struggling to pay the house rent and meet my family’s needs. I appreciate the church for helping us during this crisis.”
In view of the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the state, the Nagaland government on Friday extended the total lockdown in the state till June 11.
