On World Food Day, 16th October 2014, Believers Church Diocese of Dhemaji provided food to 130 poor and starving widows and elderly people.
Most of them are homeless, garbage scavengers, beggars or domestic helpers. So, the church gave them a meal with rice, dal and meat to show them some compassion.
Bishop B. Sunderraj began the program with prayer and the church workers and Women’s Fellowship members served food for them. They were also given blankets after the meal to protect them during the upcoming winter season.
All of them thanked the church and the people who served them earnestly. “It has been so long singe I have eaten such a delicious food,” said one old man. “Thank you so much for your love and care.”
Believers Church regularly cares for the most neglected in society by showing compassion and providing for their needs.
