Believers Church Diocese of Dhemaji held relief supply distributions at two places on 1st and 2nd September 2017.
The chief guest, Shri. Dharmakanta Mili (District Development Commissioner), while speaking on the occasion said, “I really appreciate Believers Church for distributing relief materials to flood victims, not just in one place, but at different villages. Service to humanity is service to God”.
The recent wave of flood displaced many people from their homes, destroyed crops and left scores of people dead in Dhemaji District. Most of the affected families do not have a proper shelter, a place to cook, clean drinking water and food. Many of them are also suffering from various diseases caused by polluted flood waters.
To help vulnerable families meet their basic needs, the diocese distributed a total of 3.9 tonnes of dry rations including rice, dal, salt and oil and helped 300 families.
