Believers Church Diocese of Delhi provided 15,000 litres of drinking water to families in three colonies on World Water Day, 21st March 2016.
People in these areas are facing shortage of drinking water. So, the church organized such a program to provide them with clean drinking water. The tankers were placed in the public places, where people could reach easily and collect water. A team of Women’s Fellowship members and Sisters of Compassion volunteered in this distribution.
Over 1,000 families including nomads were helped through this water distribution. “We collect water from far places. But, this was a great help for us,” said Saraswati, one lady. “Thank you so much helping us. For the next three days, we will be able to use this water for our needs.”
On this day, the church organized similar programs throughout all its dioceses to provide clean and safe drinking water to water scarce communities and villages.
