Diocese of Delhi Gifts Mosquito Nets to 500 Destitute Families

On 23rd July 2016, Believers Church Diocese of Delhi held its second phase of mosquito net distribution program.

Inaugurating the function, Mr. K.C. Tyagi (Member of Parliament and Secretary General of Janata Dal United), appreciated the initiatives of Believers Church. He thanked the Metropolitan Dr. K. P. Yohannan for his compassion and vision to help the downtrodden of the society.

Speaking on the occasion, Bishop Dr. Simon John, the bishop of Diocese of Delhi described about the various initiatives the church has undertaken to render help to the poor and needy in Delhi NCR.

During the event, the diocese distributed mosquito nets to a total of 500 poor families hailing from slums to help protect them from mosquito borne diseases such as malaria and dengue fever.

“We live near an open drainage and because of mosquito infestation my wife was affected by dengue. But now we don’t have to worry anymore about mosquito bites. I want to say a big thanks to the church for giving a mosquito net to our family. This means a lot to us” said, Rajesh, a beneficiary.
