Diocese of Colombo Distributes Relief Supplies to Affected Families in Ratnapura District

As part of its relief efforts following the floods and landslides in Sri Lanka, Believers Church Diocese of Colombo, held yet another relief supply distribution program in Ratnapura District on 10th July 2017.

Along with relief items, the diocese also distributed mosquito nets to disaster-affected families to help them stay protected from dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases which are spreading fast because of the stagnant waters left behind by recent floods.

Smt. Abeysinghe (local government representative) was present on the occasion and distributed the relief supplies to people. A total of 160 persons received the relief items. All the families received a pack of dry rations, bottled water, hygiene items, clothes, medicine and sanitary supplies, a large mosquito net, school bags with stationery pack and school shoes.

“I thank Believers Church for coming over to our village to help us in our time of distress and providing us with these much needed items” said, Mrs. Kumari, a recipient.
