Diocese of Colombo Cleans 38 Wells Contaminated by Flooding

On 17th June 2014, a team of youths from the Diocese of Colombo cleaned contaminated wells. Altogether 38 wells were cleaned by a group of five youths.

The villagers were using these wells for water needs, but due to the recent floods they became useless and dirty. The team stayed in the village for four days and cleaned the wells.

The villagers were amazed by the compassionate act of the youth. A villager said, “I am amazed to see these young boys coming out of their way and taking a huge risk to clean these wells. This kind thought of bringing us the opportunity to have clean water makes me admire their good work.”

This is just one of the ways that Believers Church provides clean water to communities in need. The church has also provided thousands of bore wells and BioSand water filters to those lacking clean water.
