Diocese of Chennai Serves Food and Water to 1,500 Flood-Hit People

Believers Church, Diocese of Chennai fed 1,500 flood-hit people in three different villages on 16th November 2015.

There are around 14 lakes nearby to these villages. These lakes were filled in the heavy rainfall and started overflowing. As a result, the surrounding villages were drowned in water. Tambaram was the worst-hit village among those. It was completely cut off from other towns and villages. Though. People have been rescued and restored to safer places, they are still struggling without food or drinking water. Because, they have nothing left other than the clothes they wear.

So, the church decided to help the affected people. The relief teams went to the shelter camps and served food and distributed water packets to the affected individuals there.

In the days to come, the church will be doing more relief works in different part of the Chennai District to reach out to the victims with immediate help.
