Believers Church Diocese of Chennai served food to 250 flood-victims in a slum on 19th November 2015.
The flood had caused a huge damage to this slum. The slum dwellers who lived in small huts and plastic-made tents are shifted to relief camps as their houses were completely destroyed. Now, they face a shortage of food and drinking water in their camp. The Government, private organizations and army people are trying to solve this problem. But the poor and broken transportation facilities make it more difficult for them to bring out effective relief works.
Despite the difficulties, the church was also able to reach out to the victims with help. The relief team visited their shelter camp and served one-time food and water packets among the residents there.
In the coming days, the church will be doing more relief works in the affected areas to bring immediate and effective relief.
