Believers Church Diocese of Chennai distributed food and water packets to flood-hit people in three villages on 18th November 2015.
The metropolitan city has now become an island, due to the flood that the continuous rainfall and the overflowing rivers and lakes has caused. The low-level villages and the houses there are fully under water. Despite the differences in age, caste or money, all people have been affected by the flood and are now staying together in different relief camps. Though different organizations and government are trying to bring effective relief among them, people are still facing shortages of food and drinking water in camps.
Realizing their need, the church decided to help them. A relief team visited their shelter camps and distributed food and water packets to 750 people.
In the days to come, the church will be doing more relief works in the affected areas to bring immediate relief and help among the victims.
