Thousands of people were left stranded after their homes were flooded, and forced to move to relief camps. Though the water level has gone down, many people are still unable to move back as their houses were washed out completely. So, they are still staying in shelter camps. But now, providing them with food, clothes and water has become a great challenge. Different organizations and individuals are actively working to provide them with at least their immediate needs.
Along with them, Believers Church Diocese of Chennai also has taken initiatives to reach out to the flood victims with immediate help. On 28th November 2015, the church could distribute food supplies to the affected people in Ramapuram with the help of Shri. Saidai Samiyappan Duraisamy (Mayor, Corporation of Chennai) and Mr. P. Benjamin (Deputy Mayor).
500 families were given with food kits containing 8 kg rice, 500 g salt, 500 g tamarind, 250 kg chilli powder, half liter oil and one liter phenoil.
The church is doing relief works in different parts of Chennai, Cuddalore and Chidambaram Districts to reach out to the victims with help.
