On World No Tobacco Day, 31st May 2014, the Diocese of Chandigarh conducted an awareness rally. More than 50 people including Minor Seminary students and Bridge of Hope children participated in the rally.
The students carried placards which stated the ill effects of tobacco and raised slogans like “Stop Smoking” and “Smoking Kills”. Many people appreciated the initiative of the church to spread awareness against the use of tobacco.
A community member named Mr. Gurban said, “Organizing such a program in the village is a big step forward to assist older smokers to get rid of this menace and help them to live a better life. I appreciate the church.”
On this World No Tobacco Day, Believers Church educated thousands of people about substance abuse.
