On 27th August 2017, Believers Church Diocese of Buniyadpur distributed fresh meals to flood affected people at four different places in Dakshin Dinajpur District of West Bengal.
Dakshin Dinajpur is one of the six districts heavily impacted by the deluge. Here the diocese provided hot cooked meals and clean drinking water to around 800 people affected by the devastating floods.
Touched by the noble initiative of the church, Mr. Budhrai Murmu, a village headman said, “The flood had taken away all our belongings and we were living without food. We have no words to express our heartfelt thanks to you for taking this effort to provide food for us. Thanks a lot”.
“I had never experienced hunger in my life before, but due to the flood we lost everything and we were forced to stay hungry. Today you gave us food to fill our empty stomach. Thank you so much”, said Sona Moni Tudu, a recipient.
The beneficiaries were grateful for the help and extended their gratitude to the church for the timely act of kindness.
