A team of Women’s Fellowship members in Believers Church Diocese of Birtamod distributed 30 Water Filters to different families on World Water Day, 22nd March 2016.
All of them are tea garden workers. They fetch water from a hand pump, which produces iron-contaminated water. Though this wasn’t safe for drinking, they continued using it as they did not have money to afford a filter. Realizing their need, the church distributed the filters.
“Me and my children used to suffer from stomach pain, cough and cold because of drinking this unclean water,” said Manju Shani, one recipient. “Thank you so much for gifting us a filter freely.”
On World Water Day, Believers Church helped many water lacking communities to have access to safe drinking water through its Clean Water project.
