On 1 July 2021, a local parish in Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Birtamod distributed dry rations to Covid-hit families in three different villages of Ilam District, East Nepal.
The priest and few members of the parish went door to door and distributed ration kits to the needy families. A total of 24 families were provided with dry rations. Each family received a sack of ration, which is sufficient to feed a family for a month.
The recipients were daily wage laborers, the physically challenged, and elderly persons. They expressed their heartfelt thanks to the church for the kind gesture.
Bupal, 76 years old, said, “We depend on daily work and wages for survival. During this pandemic we were struggling to survive. Thank you very much for the rations. God bless you abundantly.”
“I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the church for providing me a sack of ration during this pandemic. I have been bedridden since a year due to an accident. Please try to visit me again sometime”, said Sanjay Ramtel.
