On 1st August 2014, the Diocese of Bilaspur opened a new tailoring unit in a Bridge of Hope center. Fifty people attended the inauguration program, in which 40 women joined for the classes.
Bishop B. K. Lukose inaugurated the tailoring unit by cutting the ribbon. He said, “This training will open a gate for all of you to earn some money to support your family.” And he encouraged the people by sharing the story of a woman who finished her vocational training and supports her family.
All the women were very happy and excited, because their new skills will facilitate them to sustain their households.
Tailoring classes are one of the many ways that Believers Church works towards women’s empowerment.
