In celebration of International Literacy Day, Believers Church Diocese of Bhopal opened Adult Literacy Units in three backward villages on 8th September 2017.
Literacy books also were distributed to the women who are newly enrolled in the literacy units.
One of the women named Malti Bairagi who attended the literacy day program said, “So far nobody encouraged us to get an education. This is the first time I am hearing from you about the importance of education. Though I have to work in paddy field every day, I will manage my time and attend the literacy class. Thank you very much for taking this initiative”.
Through Believers Church’s Adult Literacy Initiative 50,000 women have been taught how to read and write.
