Believers Church Diocese of Agartala held a social work program on 2nd October 2014 as a part of the ‘Clean India campaign,’ launched By honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The main reason for launching this campaign was to encourage the citizens of India to maintain cleanliness and hygiene. “But cleaning up the country cannot be the sole responsibility of sanitation workers. Do citizens have no role in this? We have to change this mindset,” the PM said. He further said “We all must come together and do this (clean India) wherever we are.”
Accepting this challenge, our diocesan staffs along with community members cleaned up a public road by taking out wastes and cutting down unwanted trees and plants.
The program was a great success with active participation by all and the community members appreciated the church for taking a leadership role in their area.
This is just an example of how Believers Church works to maintain cleanliness and thereby ensures health and hygiene of the people in our society.
