Diocese of Agartala Holds Blood Donation Camp to Mark World Blood Donor Day
June 15, 2016Believers Church Diocese of Agartala organized a blood donation camp on 15th June 2016 to mark World Blood Donor Day which is celebrated every year on 14th June.
A medical team led by Dr. Chakrabati from Blood Bank, Agartala carried out the clinical activities for the camp. The people who came forward to donate blood were screened by the medical team.
Bishop Anil Kumar Debbarma was at the forefront to donate blood. Altogether 35 persons including diocesan staff and clergy voluntarily donated blood for a noble cause.
Dr. Chakrabati appreciated the church for taking initiative to organize the blood donation camp and volunteering to donate blood without a second thought.
Akhil Debbarma, one of the donors said, “If my body produces enough new red blood cells and if my blood can save someone’s life, why not donate my blood for this good cause?”.
