Believers Church Diocese of Agartala conducted social welfare programs and distributed 640 blankets to 320 families on 3rd and 4th of March 2015.
Most of the beneficiaries are daily wage labourers or farmers who do not have much warm clothes to protect themselves from the winter chill. Seeing that they do not have money to buy their own blankets, the church organized this distribution program.
“I go and do labor work in a field. I have a very little income and it is not sufficient to buy a blanket,” said Mahamaya Debbarma, a beneficiary. “Thank you so much for giving us it freely. It is really a great help to me and my family.”
Believers Church sees the poor and downtrodden and cares for their needs by helping them to sustain themselves through gift distribution programs like this.
