Delhi Diocese Distributes Forty BioSand Filters on World Water Day

On 22nd March 2014, World Water Day, Believers Church Delhi Diocese distributed BioSand water filters to forty families. The chief guests of the event were Sri Babu Singh Ayria (Nagar Nigam Councilor) and Sri Naresh Saine (Principal of St. Andrews Public School).

Sri Naresh Saine inaugurated the distribution and thanked Believers Church for providing BioSand water filters to the villagers.

When Believers Church surveyed the local community, it was found that there was a great need of clean water. The poor people here drank water that was polluted and salty since they could not afford pure water. Due to the poor water quality, many children periodically suffered with diarrhea and other sicknesses.

“We are very glad that we now have BioSand water filter in our home,” said a community member named Bala. “Now no more tension; without paying any money we can drink pure water. I am thankful to Believers Church.”

World Water Day comes just once a year, but Believers Church regularly works to provide clean water to communities.
