COVID-19 Relief: Believers Eastern Church Dioceses Reach Out to the Poor with Food and Essentials

On 28 April 2020 Believers Eastern Church dioceses in India held relief supply distributions at different locations to make food and other essential supplies available to the needy.

The distributions were done with the approval from local police and government officials and safety protocols advised by government were followed during the distributions.

Extending their hands to help those in distress, Diocese of Buniyadpur served warm, freshly-cooked meals to 100 people through community kitchen run by Bridge of Hope. The Diocese also distributed facemasks and soaps to 280 people.

In Diocese of Vijayawada dry ration items were distributed to needy families. Police officials were present during the distribution.

Local parishes in Diocese of Lucknow reached out to 200 persons with dry rations and vegetables.

Two Bridge of Hope centers in Diocese of Chennai distributed 50 food packets and 50 handmade masks among poor farmers and daily laborers.
