On 25 April 2020, Believers Eastern Church dioceses held relief distributions at different locations in India and Sri Lanka to bring succor to the poor who have been hard hit by the lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic.
The distributions were done with the approval from local police and government officials and safety protocols advised by government were followed during the distributions.
In Diocese of Colombo, dry ration packets were distributed among municipal sanitary workers. Municipal Chairman, local administration officers and police personnel were present during the distribution.
On the same day, a parish priest distributed dry ration packets among deserving families in the neighborhood.
In Diocese of Delhi, more than 750 people were served warm, freshly-cooked meals through community kitchen run by Bridge of Hope (Hope for Children).
Dry ration items were distributed to 20 poor families in Diocese of Solan.
In Diocese of Gumla dry rations were distributed to needy families. Social distancing and other safety measures were followed during distribution.
The beneficiaries also were sensitized about the importance of proper handwashing and the prevention COVID-19.
The priest and members of St Paul Believers Eastern Church in mission diocese of Goa helped 25 poor and needy Families with 3 kg rice, 1 litre oil, 1 kg dal, 1 kg tomatoes, 1 kg onion and 1 kg potatoes.
Mission Diocese of Haryana distributed provision items to ten families through a local parish.
