Covid-19 Crisis: Believers Eastern Church Dioceses Provide Food for the Most Vulnerable

On 16 May 2020, Believers Eastern Church dioceses and parishes distributed essential supplies to families hit hardest by the covid-19 lockdown.

Mission Diocese of Berhampur held relief supply distribution at a leprosy colony where they distributed 5 kilogram of rice and vegetables to 40 families. These families are very poor and most of them used to earn a living by begging on the streets.

Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Amritsar helped five families with grocery items. Each family received a kit consisting of rice, ata, dal, sugar, oil among other items.

A local parish in Diocese of Bilaspur distributed ration items and vegetables to 15 needy families.

Another parish in Diocese of Bilaspur distributed ration kits to 18 poor families.

The distributions were done with the approval from local government administrations and safety protocols like social distancing were followed during the distributions.
