In a momentous ceremony, the newly constructed St. Paul Believers Eastern Church Cathedral in Birtamod, Nepal, was consecrated on the 2nd of February, 2024. The consecration ceremony was presided over by H.G John Mor Irenaeus Episcopa, the Archbishop of Delhi Archdiocese, concelebrated by H.G Titus Mor Osthathiose Episcopa, the Archbishop of Nepal, H.G Theodore Mor Origen Episcopa, H.G Emmanuel Mor Julien Episcopa, and the clergy of the Diocese of Birtamod.
H.G John Irenaeus Episcopa delivered a heartfelt homily, inspiring the congregation with the words, “Let this church be a channel of blessing to many, a means of healing, and a house of prayer.” The congregation was deeply moved and encouraged by the powerful message.
Witnessed by priests and faithful from various churches in Jhapa district and Darjeeling, approximately 1000 individuals gathered to partake in this auspicious event. The consecration ceremony included a solemn procession around the magnificent structure, followed by the ceremonial opening of its doors by Archbishop John Mor Irenaeus Episcopa. Not only the doors but also the walls and icons were anointed by the bishops, symbolizing the sanctity of the space.
The holy consecration service culminated in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, where all participants devoutly and reverently partook.
