A Women’s Fellowship team in Believers Church Gorakhpur Diocese organized a community development program on senior citizens day on the 23rd of August.
The city where the program took place is crowded with widows living on the streets and they have no one to care for them. Many survive by begging or prostitution. Some have even lost their sanity due to these desperate living conditions.
Believers Church helped these widows by distributing clean clothes to them and their children. The Women’s Fellowship team members were able to help 80 people including children.
Mala (40 year old widow) said, “I am glad to see every child smile. Widows got dresses and they were very happy. Some of them started wearing it immediately.”
Puja (14 years old) said, “The dresses given were all very nice and colourful. And we are very happy and grateful to you for the support shown towards us.”
Believers Church conducts such community development programs in many villages by selecting the appropriate beneficiaries.
