Believers Church Sikkim conducted a poverty alleviation program on the 28th of August.
Mrs. Bishnumaya Kattel (Panchayat President) was invited as the chief guest and Mr. Suren Subba was invited as the guest of honor for the day. The chief guest in her speech appreciated and encouraged Believers Church to continue to conduct such programs in the future, which will witness the love of Christ.
More than 62 families benefited. They received 9 goats, 16 piglets, 4 cows, 8 bundles of tin sheets, 15 blankets, 3 momo vessels, 2 carpenter tools and 4 sewing machines.
Teju a 37 year old handicapped has six members in his family. He works as a daily labourer. His roof was torn because of heavy rainfall. Therefore he was provided with a bundle of tin sheet, which made him very happy and he extended his heartfelt thanks to Believers Church.
Believers Church through its poverty alleviation program is able to improve the standard of living of thousands of families all over India.
