On 29th June 2012 a bore well was inaugurated in the village of Alipur, Uttarakhand. The people of Alipur had been facing problems as there was no pure water. The village head had provided them a hand pump, but due to extreme heat it went dry. People started to get water from the irrigation system, which was not meant for drinking.
When the Believers Church state office learned of their need, they decided to install a bore well in the village. The villagers were excited when the bore well reached enough depth to produce good water.
People from the surrounding area shared, “We were taking water from the irrigation system, which was not good for us, but we had to take it. In this situation, the church came forward and helped us, we are grateful to the church for providing this facility.”
Around 125 families take water from the new well each day, joining hundreds of thousands who are sustained by bore wells throughout Asia.
