The commissioning service of the 19th batch of the Sisters of the Cross was held at the St. Thomas Believers Eastern Church Cathedral, Thiruvalla, on 19 June 2024. The service was a significant event, marking the dedication of 103 sisters from diverse linguistic backgrounds to their noble mission.
H.G. Daniel Mor Timotheos Episcopa of North America and Europe presided over the ceremony, presenting sarees to the newly commissioned sisters as a symbol of their commitment. As the sisters received their sarees, many were moved to tears, thanking God for the privilege granted to them to serve Him.
These sisters have vowed to serve the most neglected and forgotten individuals in society, including widows, leprosy patients, orphans, slum dwellers, and those considered the lowest in social standing. Their selfless dedication embodies the church’s mission of compassion and service, reaching out to those in dire need and exemplifying the love and care at the heart of Christian service.
