Believers Church Patna Diocese organised a Clean and Healthy Bihar program on 2nd February 2013. Around 500 school children and parents attended the program.
Stemming from the diocese’s new sanitation project, the event raised health awareness and provided toilets to community members.
Chief guest Rt. Rev. M.A. Lalachan shared that God’s passion is to establish a healthy and refined community on earth that reflects the nature of God.
The Bishop explained that lack of education and information is a major hindrance in the development of an individual. To help overcome this obstacle, Dr. Deena Nath(MD) shared health tips with the crowd.
A couple named Remi and Rejinasanti were the first to receive a toilet. Previously, they had to walk one kilometer to relieve themselves. In October, Rejinasanti fell during her long walk to the toilet, was handicapped and required surgery. The new toilet from Believers Church will make life much easier for this couple.
So far, Patna Diocese has installed around 25 toilets, and the church looks forward to doing much more in the future.
