On 2nd October 2012, Believers Church Chennai Diocese celebrated Gandhi Jayanti by doing social work in nearby communities. Minor Seminary staff and students worked together to pay tribute to their nation.
The team formed two groups. Pastors Jesudass and Patrick led the male staff and students in cleaning the local police station in Padappai. They cleaned inside the building and the entire surrounding area.
The local people were excited to see the visible improvement of the area.
Rajkumar and John led the female staff and students in another direction. This group went to Vandalur Zoo and distributed free clothes to gypsies and roadside beggars. All the locals appreciated the team for their service to the poor.
Believers Church takes every possible opportunity to help the needy and improve communities. The birthday of Mahatma Gandhi was no exception.
