Believers Church Chandigarh Diocese opened a new Bridge of Hope center on July 19th. Around 100 people gathered for the inauguration, including Mr. Baljeet Singh (Assistant Sub-Inspector of police).
The local children were in desperate need of help. Many were without proper clothes or hygiene, and they lacked education.
“The goal of the Bridge of Hope project,” explained Rev. Fr. Martin, “is to provide physical, moral and educational teaching in order that these children may be responsible citizens of the country in the coming days.”
The inaugural lamp was lit by Rev. Fr. Martin, Mr. Baljeet Singh and Sumitra (mother of a new Bridge of Hope student).
“I am so happy to be here,” said Mr. Baljeet. “As being in charge of this area, I will give my full support and help to this project in the future whenever they need it.”
The center looks forward to helping the children of this poor village develop and grow. This is one of more than 525 Bridge of Hope centers bringing hope to impoverished children.
