The Women’s Fellowship department of Believers Church Hyderabad Diocese organized a Healthcare Training Seminar from 21st to 24th May 2013. During the inauguration of the program, Rev. Fr. Thomas spoke about God’s great concern for human health and sanitation.
Around 80 women from different areas of Andhra Pradesh attended the seminar, which challenged health-related myths that prevail in undeveloped villages. They learned about childcare, pregnancy, hygiene and other helpful topics. All of the participants responded well to the teaching. They aptly presented skits during group demonstration sessions and actively participated in question and answer times.
The women who attended the training will travel to different villages to increase health awareness. One of their main goals is to reduce the rate of disease and premature deaths among women and children in the state. “The Healthcare Seminar has helped me a lot to equip myself,” said a participant named Dhana, “and to look forward to cleanliness and good health in our localities. The teaching modules also have changed my concept of proper diet for a woman during and after pregnancy.”
Thousands of people are impacted through the health awareness initiatives of Believers Church each year.
