Following repeated reports of abuse in India’s capital, four Bridge of Hope centers in Believers Church Delhi Diocese held a Child Abuse Prevention Rally on 16th April 2013. The rally protested child abuse and challenged the community to stop such crimes.
Around 550 Bridge of Hope children marched through Delhi streets with placards, banners and posters to raise awareness about the issue. Finally, they held a program in a public place for parents and community members.
People learned about the high percentage of children in India that face physical, emotional or sexual abuse. The crowd was also challenged to be sensitive to friends, family and acquaintances, as they may have been victims of abuse in the past.
This is just one of many social concerns that Believers Church is addressing. Others include substance abuse, AIDS, environmental conservation and hygiene.
